Eco-Friendly Family Vacations
With warmer weather coming many of us plan our next family vacation. I began to wonder if there were “other” opportunities to travel, leaving a small impact on the environment. Traveling with children can be quite difficult when I went looking for travel tips environmentally friendly, I had to ensure their support for the family too. Here are some ideas for Eco-Friendly Family Travel:
Before leaving home make sure you go all the devices and chargers that are not used. Microwave, television, computer, etc., may be wasted “phantom,” even though you’re gone. Make sure the heating and cooling system has been set for your holiday. Why spend money and energy for heating and cooling an empty house? Set the desired security lighting on a timer. This makes it possible to go home, when you want it to be, and when the power is not needed.
When considering the mode of transport to remember that the air leaves the greatest impact on the environment than the same journey by train, bus or car. If your destination requires a long haul flight, try to pick a direct flight. Take-off and landing use a significant amount of fuel. This system is set up so that passengers can buy emissions reduction credits from a company that uses this money to do things like plant trees and support of renewable energy products (eg: wind).
